Back in the saddle

Miami was a lot of fun. It was great to spend some quality time with the Whatnot team. Unfortunately, we missed the mark on profitability for the trip. This was only our second live collaboration event. We had major learnings from the first event in October and thought we had the right plan to execute this trip, but we did not. The good news is we took on even more learnings this time, the bad news is the trip was not profitable. We rolled 7 deep, which in hindsight was a recipe for a large expense report. We did set a record for our biggest revenue show ever ($31,764 - beating our previous record by $28), but expenses of the trip (and less-than-optimal show margins) were too much to overcome. Silver lining, February was a new Whatnot revenue monthly record with $280k (beating December’s record of $277k).

On a super positive side, February was the best month in our company’s history! Not too shabby for a super short month. March is off to a bit of a slow start, but with the extra days, we should have a shot at a new company record.

Membership is on pace with the new growth, will be exciting to see what our big renewal (always on the 15th) looks like this month.
