The Cheese #56 🧀 - Clipping, Clawbots, and Logan Paul

Gotta finish February strong because March is busy...

In partnership with

Momentum continues! Another great week!

All sales channels are making great strides to new records (or highly respectable finishes at the very least for the month).

Membership scale-up is going well. While we have a new number for membership inventory moving forward, we don’t have the existing inventory (past boxes) to support a full scale to our new number, but we are still able to move past the previous, which is great.

Whatnot troubles from January seem to be a thing of the past. Our hourly revenue is up by about 8%, and our average profit margin is up over 50% compared to January. We are absolutely within striking distance of a new monthly record, but it will likely come down to our last show of the month, which is the collaborative show we are doing live from Miami. We did a similar show in October, and we averaged over $13k an hour. Our show will be a tad longer this go around, and we have a LOT of learnings from the first show, so we think we know how to maximize revenue and profit this go around. We will then start March off with another special show the next day, live from the Miami Airbnb. Should be a great couple of days.

Now that BattlGames Season 2 is fully released, we are making our first go at ‘clipping’. We jumped on a popular clipping platform and are running a campaign this week and next. Will be interesting to see how clipping translates for us compared to gaming and comedy, where it shines.

My take on Glossier popped hard last week on LinkedIn:

Lots of new things are going on in the AI front. Gemini has a new release, and Google Labs dropped ‘Photoshoot’ which we have already tested with great results.

Last AI piece that is living rent-free in my head right now is OpenClaw (which was bought by OpenAI 4 days ago). Speaking to a few friends who are all exploring it currently, and we will be testing in a closed environment over the next couple of weeks. For those not following, OpenClaw seems to be one of the first straightforward ways to create autonomous AI agents. Let’s oversimplify it. You can create an employee who works 24/7 for a fraction of the cost. This is the first glimpse of the reality of the future of the world’s job market.

Looking forward and also not looking forward to March because it is a heavy travel month for me. The tail end of the Miami trip, a couple of days at our main warehouse, and Shoptalk in Vegas.

There is a Morning Brew advertisement at the bottom of this, remember to click the ad to support the newsletter. I actually have subscribed to their newsletter for several years now so it is kinda cool to have it as an ad.

Let’s get into the rest…

Millionaire University

I stopped by my friend Brien’s podcast, Millionaire University, to talk about Whatnot and Live Selling. I am still very bullish on the future of live selling in the US, and I share my take. Check it out.

Rolex did not sponsor this…

Lhea continues her mission of educating us on some well-known businesses and often highlighting parts that most people do not know. This week, she double-clicks into Rolex, and I definitely got my mind blown a little!

Logan Paul just made $11M

ICYMI - Logan Paul sold his infamous Pokemon Pikachu Illustrator for $16.49M
He bought it 4.5 years ago for a little over $5M. Lhea breaks down the history and deal.
