The Cheese #51 🧀 - 89 Pallets, BattlGames, and Barry Bonds

In the air to Vegas as you read this

BattlGames Season 2 Episode 1 dropped yesterday!

Super proud of the team and the finished product. If you have not watched the first episode yet, check it out! Season 2 will be 5 episodes in total, with new episodes every Thursday.

2026 has started off with a quick realization that we don’t have enough inventory to support all of the additional distribution we now have outside of “the monthly box”. A good problem to have, but still a problem. Wild that back in 2023 and 2024, we had a couple of million dollars of inventory that we probably should not have. Not bad inventory, inventory that would absolutely move eventually, just not at the same velocity we can move stuff now.

Speaking of inventory, our opportunity buy of roughly $600k of inventory from a failed business is going to be delivered to our secondary warehouse next week. Four truckloads, which equates to 89 Pallets which equates to 88,844 pounds. Excited for the team to jump into it. It is absolutely going to be a process though, probably a slower one than I would like, but it’s A LOT OF STUFF.

Whatnot January is half done, and the revenue number suggests we are only a third into the month. Sitting pretty close to $100k so far for the month. This is our first January, so I am curious if live shopping in January is similar to traditional Direct To Consumer… challenging. We shall see, but this might be our first month of a non-new record.

Amazon is trending for some YoY growth for January, which is great to see.

The business overall is up about 15% YoY compared to last January but with Whatnot NOT in the equation last January, the growth of the existing business is actually only up slightly.

I am currently in flight to Las Vegas for my annual January trip. A weekend with my Dad and then a few days with some fellow BattlBoxers at Shot Show.

Personally, I am trying to make a final decision on my next vehicle. Coming out of nowhere into the realm of possibility and leading as the likely choice is a Tesla X. I have never been a huge fan of electric vehicles, but I spoke to several long time Tesla owners who all spoke very highly of the experience (Shout out Josh, Jimmy, and Paul). I test drove one earlier this week, and it was absolutely not like anything I have experienced before. The test drive started out not driving, but riding in the Tesla as it drove me to a destination about 10 minutes from the dealership. I just sat there, and it got me to the destination, even finding and pulling into a parking spot.

Let’s get into the rest, oh, and wish me luck on the slots in Vegas!

Part 7 of the Building in Public Whatnot series

I took the start of the year to update the Whatnot building series with Part 7. If you have not read this series, have literally documented in real time the last 9 months from starting the channel to where we are now.

hi, i am now a travel blogger too lol

While in Lisbon, we did a day trip out of the city to several places. Full review of the day, highly recommend this tour if you find yourself in Lisbon.

Brady, Jordan, Ohtani, and more!

For the Sports Card Enthusiasts, a great recap of the 10 biggest winners of the hobby in 2025. Pumped to see Barry Bonds on the list, just wish I had more of his cards.
