The Cheese #44 🧀 - From my deathbed to an 8-hour Whatnot Warehouse Show
Fiji Water and The Sharper Image
Another One (DJ Khaled Voice)
This week was an interesting one. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday was going to be work from home with Thursday and Friday down in Milledgeville at our warehouse.
Monday was a great day, moved along a lot of internal things I have been working on. I had a call with Zach and Savannah of DYR Sports (Holding Company for MyCheerleadingBox, MyDancerBox, MyVolleyBox). Catch up call on their business and what they are working through. Chatting with them is always an absolute pleasure, and I personally feel energized afterwards. I love what they are building and am excited to see their continued growth. Every time we chat, I feel like they have upgraded themselves to a new level (both the business and them professionally), and I am stoked to see what they will accomplish in 2026!
Monday evening I felt a little off and thought it was possibly just a long day. Tuesday morning I woke up groggy and slow but pushed through it. A few hours into the day I was on a call (internal call with RT and PK) and they both stopped talking and asked if I was OK. I was apparently laying my head on my desk dying lol. Quickly realized something was wrong and agreed that I needed to lay down. Something was off. Laid down around 10:30 am and did not get out of bed until 8 am the next day. Woke up feeling fine. Not sure if I had a 24-hour bug or what, but it was super strange.
Wednesday back to normal like I was not on my deathbed the day prior. Thursday was an all-day content day at the warehouse. Shot some amazing content that will drop in the coming months and then went out to dinner and some drinks in my old college stomping ground with the BattlBox crew.
As you read this, BattlBox is a couple of hours into our 8-hour Whatnot warehouse sale! Our non-negotiable goal today is to set a new revenue record for a show (previous record is $31k). I am fairly confident we will destroy it with all of our learnings since the last, so the real question is by how much will the record be destroyed. You can watch us LIVE here: https://www.whatnot.com/live/97c0bc7a-bcc0-4041-8364-0aa4195c3550
On the Whatnot front, we have made some traction towards getting back on track for November (on track means a new monthly record). However, a strong show today could possibly catch us fully up and put us ahead of the plan which is great.
Leadership all agreed to take our membership production levels up on future missions (we call our monthly box drop missions). We wont see the change to Q2 due to production timelines but it will open us up to a significant amount of additional revenue we can capture next year if we can execute correctly (sell more lol).
Diet front - I was good a few days and have been back to my old bad carb ways the last couple of days while on the road.
Let’s get into the rest.
Lessons from The Sharper Image
The Sharper Image once dominated malls with futuristic gadgets and catalog flair, but when it lost its edge, it crumbled. Today, the brand survives not as a retailer, but as a licensed name on other people’s products. Here’s what every e‑commerce brand can learn.
