The Cheese #38 🧀 - Miami, Pizza, and Weddings

I’m going to Miami (Will Smith Voice)

Well, hopefully as you read this, I am in the air heading to Miami. Little concerned with the recent news about all of the delays and cancellations going on post government shutdown. Tomorrow we will hopefully be executing our best live show ever (from a revenue perspective).

Myself, Cameron, Brandon, Chuck, and Richard will all be arriving today. We will break bread together and get some hanging out in prior to the big day. We are staying at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood since I get free rooms (always looking out for the bottom line). There is a reason the Hard Rock wants me there. Hopefully the trip treats me well on the personal bottom line. Saturday’s show is part of a whole day of shows for a special event that Blade City has put together. The Blade City guys are one of the top sellers on the platform and also great overall people. Excited to see them and partake in the event.

The past week has been a challenging one personally (work actually has been great and not stressful at all). Last Friday, our Dobby passed away (https://www.instagram.com/dobby_giovanni/). Absolutely crushing and getting a little emotional typing this up. He was absolutely one of the sweetest guys ever. Food and Love was all he needed to be happy. Had to go to a Wedding Rehearsal that evening and a wedding the following day. It’s difficult to put on a happy face after the loss, but Colleen and I figured it out.

I was one of two groomsmen / best men in the wedding so I gave a speech Saturday night and I think it went pretty well. Got a few compliments later that evening which is usually the indicator of success. Monday kept the drama going strong when Colleen got attacked by her patient (cat) on her first appointment of the day/week. It swung at her eye. Lots of blood. She is beyond lucky that it did not actually mess up with the eye (just got her eyelid). That was definitely a scary moment to get the text from Colleen that starts off with “Don’t panic but I am headed to urgent care”.

Whatnot front everything is rocking and rolling. We had our QBR with Whatnot earlier this week and it went great. Still on pace for a new monthly record for October. Hoping to have our next host, Stephen, rocking and rolling with a regular cadence of shows in the next couple of weeks. Cameron, Richard, and I are going to strategize today what rolling out our second and third channels will look like in November on the assumption that we will NOT be able to integrate them into Shopify.

Membership front everything is on track, maintaining our current member levels. Excited to dig in soon and see what our renewal numbers will look like next Wednesday (15th).

On the diet/weight front, the weekend behavior was as expected. Ate some barbeque and tacos at the wedding. Sunday, I went into Pizza mode again making 3 pies. I did a classic pepperoni, a honey hot chicken, and a taco pizza. This time I at least jumped back onto the diet afterwards. Still sitting at 133 (did jump up to 136 tho lol).
