The Cheese #28 🧀 - 50 Pounds, Lazy Betty, and a Connecticut Bachelor Party

August is here.

The travel hiatus is about to be over. Next week I am headed to Connecticut for a bachelor party (Thursday-Sunday). The week after that Thursday is an in person content day and Friday is an 8 hour Warehouse Sale, both in Milledgeville (that is where our primary warehouse is). The following week, Colleen leaves that Friday (Conference and Board Meeting) for a WHOLE WEEK. Enter Single Dad life. September has me gone for 2 weeks (1 for BattlGames and 1 for Commerce Roundtable). Absolutely setting myself up for a anxiety ridden next 60 days lol. LETS GOOOOOOO.

On the new member acquisition front, we finished strong with the free bag intro offer. We re-launched the free case offer earlier this week with some slight adjustments. We added some gear into it to match the value prop of the bag and re-did some of the videos. It is quickly looking like that obvious variable tweak might not have been the issue with the offer. Still TBD and in the learning phase but it did not have the instant success like the bag offer. We are also seeing a weird trend, that we previously have not had, where Thursday-Sunday ads perform amazing and Monday-Wednesday ads struggle. Will be interesting to test this in the coming months.

On the Whatnot front, not a lot of news. As I write this (writing this part on Wednesday), we still have a few shows to see if we can beat June’s numbers. Going to be close. At the end of the day, if we are a little above or a little below, it is all the same. It’s more about beating it from the competitive standpoint and the results of us scaling. We need to find more hosts, that is our top priority right now. Would LOVE to find a female host as well. If you know of anyone, let me know. The compensation for a the time is pretty aggressively awesome.

Speaking of LIVE, but NOT Whatnot, we will likely test some other platforms this month. We will, with certainty, test TikTok Shop Live. Amazon and eBay Live selling are both on our radar but it seems the possible onboarding process might mean its not an August thing.

Keto / Diet front - I am at 131.1 this morning. Which means I have lost over 50 pounds. Pretty wild to think about. I am now in weight ranges that I have not seen since 2014. Continuing my daily push ups and sit ups, but I really need to come up with a more in depth fitness program. I know how to make it, I know how to execute it, just need to hold myself accountable and do it. Hopefully talking about it publicly like this will force my hand. Shame! Shame! Shame!

Amazon stopped running Google Ads.

Last Friday, the news broke that Amazon stopped running Google Ads. For context, Amazon runs ALOT of Google Ads. Speculation has entered the chat. This article does a good summary of the info we know so far.
