The Cheese #25 🧀 - Whatnot, BattlGames, and AI Space
It’s been a week!
It’s been a week!
One of those weeks where you cannot catch up. You start the day with 10 tasks you are going to tackle and you end the day with 12 for the next day…but let’s vomit up everything in my head right now…
Whatnot updates - Sandra, our first full time Show Runner started on Monday. Show Runner is the title we have given to running the backend of our live shows. They set the pace of the show and oftentimes pick up reads during the show that the Host might miss. The barrier to entry to be good at this is not very high, but to be great? It’s takes skills. A combination of critical thinking and awareness. I am excited to see Sandra get started, she is running her first show as you are reading this…
BattlGames Updates - Wunderkind, Kintsugi, and Klaviyo all came on as BattlGames sponsors. Pretty exciting to see the technology side of ecommerce coming in as sponsors this year. We still have a couple of spots left for brands, so if you know of a brand that would see the value in the event (and 65 million eyeballs when the season drops), please let me know. Happy to chat.
Keto Front - I have behaved since falling off the wagon Thursday - Sunday of last week. I went up from 135 to 141, but already back down to 136. Will be interesting to see if I can break the 135 floor this time. Of course, it likely wont happen before Sunday. Sunday there will be carbs.
It’s my wife’s birthday (also, my Dad’s birthday), and we are going out to eat (my wife and I).
Eating at Lazy Betty in Atlanta. It’s the first Michelin star restaurant we have ever eaten at in Atlanta. One of nine here in the city. Michelin Guide did NOT enter the Atlanta market until 2023. Technically, we have eaten at Bacchanalia before it was awarded a star. Will be interesting to see how it compares to other Michelin star restaurants we have dined in (not in Atlanta).
Prime Day(s) - Can you really call it Prime Day when it lasts 4 days? Pretty wild to see how much gamification occurs on Amazon with selling. So many vendors adjusting their original price to make it look like it’s a special offering for Prime Day. People suck. On the BattlBox side, we launched a Prime Day-esque promotion. Allowing anyone to buy our Past Missions (last 12 boxes we have released). We typically do not allow these to be purchased so it’s kind of a big deal. Historically, we offer Past Missions 2-3 times a year as special events. We also NEVER discount them.
Let’s get into the rest of this, lots of stuff going on…
Amazon Prime Day Sales Off 41% First Day, Brand Adviser Says
Keeping on the Prime topic, the first day of Prime on Amazon was down 41% compared to the previous year. Will be interesting to see how it shapes up. Get the full scope here.
ChatGPT Referral Traffic (2025)
Went down a rabbit hole after seeing a post from Greg Dalby (https://t.co/XohD2yHOoG), and ended up watching this video. It’s a quick video, and with how quickly adoption of AI is occurring, it’s something you should be cognizant of.
A “click-to-cancel” Rule
The FTC’s click-to-cancel was coming down the pipeline, and people were talking about it. Now, it seems that it’s been knocked off the tracks…

Google has entered the coding AI space, and it should be interesting…
