The Cheese #17 šŸ§€

It’s been a week!

I did not mention here last week, but Colleen had to have wrist surgery last Monday (She had Mother’s thumb). She got her cast off on Wednesday of this week so hopefully she is able to return to normal soon (pulling extra Dad duties at the moment).

Speaking of Wednesday, I met Brandon (Currin1776) down at our primary warehouse (about a 2.5 hour drive) and we did a Whatnot Live. Unlike the other Whatnot Shows where we take stuff that we have multiples of in inventory, 80% of the show consisted of stuff we did not have in out inventory system at all. Why? Because as we scale Amazon, at this point, on average, we got 2 returns a day. Amazon allows customers to return products no questions asked, which means we get returns. The problem for us is that most returns are open boxes, which means we can’t sell it to anyone else. Kinda stinks. So we decided to grab some product from the ā€œAmazon Closetā€ (where we are stacking up on this unsellable inventory that we have already realized the costs on) and turn a zero into a hero. It went realy well, we were very upfront with every item; showed the box, if there was an issue with the product we called it out (almost no product issues, most of the returns were people just changing their mind). We ran for 2.75 hours and did $10,686 in revenue ($3886 an hour for those keeping track, a new record for us).

Did we get AppLovin to work yet? Nope, their onboarding team is less than impressive at this point. Beyond frustrating. Maybe next week? At this point I have no faith.

On the Meta front, we launched a new campaign this week (Free Bugout Bag worth $200+ with a Pro or Pro Plus Membership) and we are getting CAC’s of under $40. We have not seen CACs on Memberships this low since maybe before COVID. Exciting times.

Last, on the Keto front, been staying strong! Down to 145 which means I have lost 36 pounds since February 1st. I would like to lose at least another 10. Biggest problem of all of this is that I never started my Phase 2 (Phase 1 was Keto). Phase 2 is some sort of physical fitness activity. Whoops. I really do need to figure out some cadence of working out because it’s my only shot of being able to maintain this weight.

Next week, you will be reading this while I am in Costa Rica (with Colleen and Johnny) visiting our friends Grant and Rachel (and their 2 kids, with 1 on the way).

Let’s get into the rest of the cheese :)

Building a 7-Figure Sales Channel with Whatnot: Part 1

As promised, some more details around our launch on Whatnot. This is a detailed summary and breakdown after our first four live shows. Here’s where it all unfolds:

If you had to bring $1000 MRR by tomorrow, how would you approach it?

Bulletproof plan? Probably not. BUT I absolutely love the surgical approach towards hitting the goal. Good read for sales folks. At the very least, it will get your brain clicking. Dig into all the juicy details here:

Sales Pros - Please don’t do this as your first touch

Sales Pros - Please don’t do this as your first touch. I get it, a Google Drive file share lets you hit them with an email AND an app notification so it’s attractive. Attractive as it may be, it’s intrusive too. I am not clicking this in today’s world of scams and spams. Plus, someone tell the other countries prospecting us that we don’t call each other ā€˜dear’ in America.

The Cheese is Served, and It’s Time to Share the Fun! šŸ§€
