The Cheese #12 šŸ§€

It’s been a week since I left Vegas, and I can still hear Huff N Puff slot machines in my nightmares.

Got absolutely rocked on slots. I normally average 2-3 hand pays a day (over $1250 win where they give you a tax form and pay you by hand) when in Vegas but did not get a single hand pay the entire trip. That has not happened to me since maybe 2018. Wild.

In addition to the slots f*cking me up, I also embraced Uncle John (the non-skinny version of myself). The top two food highlights were both last Thursday.

Highlight 1 was Tacos El Gordo (off-strip, near Wynn / Resorts World). I went to my first Tacos El Gordo last year in San Diego and it is absolutely top 3 tacos I have ever had (both times were amazing). Highly recommend the Adobada Mulas. Mulas are basically the love child of a taco and quesadilla.

Highlight 2 was Good Pie. They have the best Dave Portnoy rating in Vegas with a 7.9. We got a Detroit Style Pepperoni, a Grandma Style Buffalo Chicken, and a Brooklyn Style Margarita. All were really good, but I was still full from my Mulas lunch so only had a slice of each.

Another takeaway from Shoptalk was that the Lil Jon concert was basically just a DJ set. 85% of the songs he played, he had zero involvement with. When he played Sweet Caroline, that was my queue to leave and go to bed.

I went to A LOT of evening events on Tuesday and Wednesday of Shoptalk. 4 events on Tuesday, and 3 on Wednesday. The big winner was ā€˜WhiteOut with Wunderkind’. Combination of great vibes and a great crew. I am sure I have some bias because I am a customer and a big fan of their tech, but regardless, everyone there seemed to be having a great time. They also had Northbeam as a co-sponsor for the event (also a customer), so it was nice to see several of their team members that I had not seen in over a year.

Business wise, BattlBox cranked $100k in revenue last month on TikTok. Well, actually we did $99,980, but I am rounding it up. $18k in January, $48k in February, $100k in March, excited to see how high we can get this as we scale.

On the Keto side of things, 7 days since I left Vegas and 7 days back on Keto. I was able to ā€œmaintainā€ my weight in March which was a WIN considering I had 3 trips in which the diet went out the window. On March 1st, I was 163.2 pounds and on April 1st I was 158, so losing 5 pounds is a major win. I have about 25 pounds that I still need to lose.
